⇒eliminasi x
   2x+y=2 (x1)
   x-y=4    (x2)
   2x+y=2
   2x-2y=8 (dikurangi)
   3y=-6
   y=-2
⇒eliminasi y

   x-y=4    (ditambah)
   3x=6
   x=2
∴himpunan penyelesaian {(2,-2)}

2. metode substitusi
⇒2x+y=2
   x-y=4 diubah ke x=y+4
⇒disubstitusikan ke 2x+y=2 (mencari y)
   2x+y=2
   2(y+4)+y=2
   2y+8+y=2
   3y+8=2
   3y=2-8
   3y= -6
   y= -2
⇒2x+y=2
   x-y=4 diubah ke -y= -x+4  (dibagi -)
                               y= x-4
⇒disubstitusikan ke 2x+y=2 (mencari x)
   2x+y=2
   2x+x-4=2
   3x-4=2
   3x=4+2
   3x=6
   x=2
∴himpunan penyelesaian {(2,-2)}

3. metode gabungan
mencari y
⇒2x+y=2  (x1)
   x-y=4     (x2)
   2x+y=2
   2x-2y=8  (dikurangi)
   3y=-6
   y=-2
mencari x
⇒lalu y=-2 disubstitusikan ke 2x+y=2 atau x-y=4
   x-y=4
   x-(-2)=4
   x+2=4
   x=4-2
   x=2
∴himpunan penyelesaian {(2,-2)}
